Netflix provides Super HD content (1080p) for my ISP, but only to supported devices, like an Apple TV, Sony Playstation 3, or if the device is running Windows 8. But a retina Macbook Pro, which can run the 1080p content in its sleep, is not supported…as it runs the Mac OS.

Any ideas when this feature will become available for Macs? Any workarounds? I notice it is compatible with Apple TV, so maybe a settings hack could overcome this problem?

interesting

due to silverlight I don't think it will be as simple as just changing the user agent of your browser

to be honest, it's got to be terrible quality 1080p content according to their requirements. The bandwidth requirements are pretty slight. It might have good resolution, but no depth to the picture. I kinda find netflix's quality to be disappointing in general.
