Netgear DG834G v2 & Time Machine

I use Netgear DG834G v2 with my Time Machine. I was thinking of upgrading the DG834G v2 but, a) not sure what to upgrade too ? ( like to stay with Netgear ) and b) how easy is it to upgrade?

The Netgear is connected with my TM and works very well. Airport Express picks up the WiFi signal for my lounge. As I said this works well for me. I would like to upgrade to a newer model but worried about my ability to do so.

Not sure about the Netgear, but I have a newer Asus RT-68; support Time Machine as well and it's very fast. I use Merlin firmware and it works great.

There is a newer model than that one, but I have not found the need to upgrade.
