Netgear DG834N + DG834G - Repeater

Hi

I have two routers a new, Netgear DG834N (v1) and an older DG834G (v2).

Currently the new router wont totally span our entire house, and we have heard that we can setup our two routers so that one acts as a repeater, extending the connection.

I have a rough idea of how to do this, however I cant see any options on the old router which I did on the new router that will let me do this. Any help setting it up with these router would be much appreciated, thank you. If there is another option, then please do et me know, thanks.

Well I have just surprised myself, by pure chance and luck, using just my own knowledge I have done it.

When looking through the settings on the DG834G router, I turned off DCHP and added a Static IP address which refers to my other router (DG834N) and hooked them up via Ethernet, and voila. I have managed to extend the range of the router.
