I've got a question for everyone.

I've been trying to connect to my departments wireless internet. The wireless router is a netgear WGT642 v2 configured with WEP 40-bit hex.

The password is B8993XXXXX (X's are other numbers/letters)

I've tried getting it to login using the "$" sign in front of it but it doesn't work.

The grad student gave me the login/pass to check out the settings. When I change it to another password that starts with a number such as 67B93XXXXX it will log in but it won't with the letter at the beginning.

I don't want to ask the grad student to change the password since a lot of people would have to go and change there passwords and they would probably complain about it.

Any solution??
