No doubt in my mind that could be true. Apple has the source code for NetShare. So uhm.. yeah. That probably happened.

Judging from their patent filing I'd guess that it will be a feature apple makes standard with an itunes/remote app update.

please elaborate on your statement.

Seriously. The OP's initial post needs to be elaborated on as well...either the OP is using Beta 2.1 software, or simply mistyped firmware 2.0.1 as 2.1...in which case, NetShare still works from 2.0 up to 2.0.2 (I have it).

I am also willing to bet that not enough people got their hands on NetShare and Apple will probably let us lucky owners slide and just keep the program, or at least not just disable it without our knowledge...it's certainly possible given their "killswitch" abilities, but another potential lawsuit could be on their hands if this were to happen, so it's probably unlikely.

Agreed. Apple let them sell NetShare on the App Store. They let us buy it. That indicates that Apple considered the application legitimate. I don't think they'd suddenly turn around and tell us that they won't let us use it anymore.

source is I have 2.1 I posted a whole thread about it with screenshots last week

what's the link to that thread? i've only seen a post where you say 2.1 fixes cropped calls and edge, but the only pics I see there are a copy of the documentation from Apple.
