Hello,
I have a dlink wireless in my house, and have wirelessly connected a linksys wrt54g to it with the alchemy software upgrade on the linksys. The pc in the out building connects to the wrt54g and to the internet via the dlink in the house. I am having difficulty connecting the mac 8600 (old power pc with os 9.1) via ethernet to the linksys router in the out building. I have a feeling I need to clear some old prefs, but I'm not sure where to look. Any suggestions would be helpful.

A bit rusty on Mac OS 9, but let me try to help:

Apple menu - Control Panels - TCP/IP

That's the one you want to edit.

-Make sure it is connected via Ethernet.
-Let the rest be assigned "automatically" (DHCP), unless you are sure you have to configure IP settings manually.
