Hi Folks,
I have a G5 power mac, which has been working just fine, but today it won`t connect to the internet. I know that the internet service is coming in ok as I have a Belkin modem/router and the xbox and kids pc is linked through that and both have been and still are online.
I tried to run the set up disc for the Belkin on the mac to try and reconnect and get a message saying " network adapter not connected" its gone through the set up check and can`t find any network adapter.
Any ideas what has happened or how to rectify this please.......

Sounds like your Ethernet cable is either busted, or the Ethernet port is dead. Try changing the cable and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, I would see if a simple repairing of permissions can help. If that doesn't work, likely a more invasive diagnosing would be required by an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Repair Center, or putting a new Ethernet card in the computer.
