network administrator not working

After installing OSX on my g5 I am unable to update any software...the network admin name is not right. I know the password is becuase it give me a password hint after 3 tries. I have never had anything but the same name and password...now it will not work. Please help.
 
I am having the same problem. I change the password in the system preferences and then when I choose to unlock something it says my password is incorrect? What gives?
