For the last few weeks I've been having a problem networking my G4 iMac and PB through Firewire. After connecting the Firewire and clicking on the Network icon in Finder, my iMac shows up, but when I try to connect I get an error message indicating "can't connect, potential inappropriate IP address". But if I tried to access the PB from my iMac it would work okay and I could transfer files.
Today I tried this again and sure enough I couldn't connect to my iMac through my PB, but now my iMac won't recognise/find my PB.
So I thought, might as well try setting up a computer-to-computer network using AirPort but now I'm getting "No AirPort Hardware Found" through Internet Connect, and "No information found" under System Profiler in my PB.
Does AirPort hardware just crap out?
Does anyone know of a problem solving (and hopefully curative) procedure to fix this?
Thanks in advance for all your help
