So I'm trying to network between my MBP and iMac.
My first time doing this so I'm learning here as I go along.

In System Pref>Sharing, I clicked on what I wanted both machines to share.
Is there anything else I need to check off to be able to get files from one machine to the other and edit/delete or install?
I guess what I want is full authority on files.

Also, how I can get applications from machine to the other and be able to install them?
I can't seem to get apps off my MBP to my Imac.
In the Sharing tab, all the apps are grayed out.
Is this something I won't be able to do?

I want to transfer some pics from my MBP to iMac.
Is the best way to go about this using firewire?
If so, can someone suggest a good fast one?
I tried transferring files via wireless connection but that was taking to long so I stopped.

I finally figured it out but when I was first starting this, I couldn't get one machine to see the other. Turned out is was the firewall settings.
What are the suggested or preferred settings I should have checked off if I want to network only these two machines?

On my iMac in the Security>Firewall, I don't have "Block all incoming connections" checked off. Should I have this checked off? If so, then my MBP can't connect.

On my MBP I have "Allow all incoming connections" checked off.
I did originally "Allow only essential services" checked off but then my iMac couldn't see the MBP.

Thanks all
