Just setting up a the network between windows 7 PC and my OS X machine, I can view/copy files from win to OS X but I cant access my OS X files/folders from my windows 7 PC...can anyone help me out?

Has the article I linked to helped?

Pinging in Mac OS X: Open terminal and enter ping 192.168.0.2, whereas 192.168.0.2 is the IP address of the Windows PC.

Pinging in Windows 7: Open Command Prompt and enter ping 192.168.0.3, whereas 192.168.0.3 is the IP address of the Mac OS X computer.

Thanks, yeah I read those links last night actually. I can ping each machine ok. It looks like I cant connect to server now for some reason...was working ok yesterday.

For some reason I can now transfer files from my PC to my Mac(possibly down to a reboot), but I cant transfer files the other way.

On windows in network I can view the Mac but cant access it error is 'network path cannot be found' can anyone help me out?

Not that it really applies to OP's problem, but just to add an additional way to ping, if you don't like using terminal there is a Network Utility in applications that you can also use to perform network tests like ping.
