Allow me to preface myself by saying that I understand this is a Mac forum so if a mod wants to delete this thread, I won't be offended. I use my Mac almost exclusively but I still have a PC because I use it for occasional gaming and accessing a Windows only program that I need for work. I have found this forum to be a wealth of information and figured I would see if someone can help.

That said.....

I swear, it seems that every 6 months to a year I have some sort of networking issue. It drives me crazy because I depend on my network to get through the day. Anyway, here's my latest woe.....

I was doing some rearranging of stuff in the house yesterday and decided to move my PC. I unplugged everything and figured I would clean out the dust bunnies before hooking it up in its new location. I used my leaf blower on the lowest settings which may have been just a bit too aggressive but it sure as hell got the job done! :)

Anyway, after hooking it up *everything* works fine *except* my network card which happens to be a Linksys USB network adapter. The network icon on the taskbar has a red "X" on it and I obviously don't have internet connectivity. I right click the icon and choose the repair option and it suggests "Plug a cable into the network adapter Local Area Connection" Huh? Not sure what they want me to do. As I said, my adapter is USB and it already is plugged in. I've rebooted the PC a bunch of times but nothing. I've unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in a bunch of times but nothing. Vista recognizes the adapter and installs the drivers or whatever but nothing.

I will say this.....

After blowing out the dust bunnies, I noticed this small, white, plastic connector on the end of some wires that looks like it plugs into *something* that is just 'kinda hanging there. However, I can't imagine that would be the problem because my adapter is USB. Oh yeah, I've tried plugging it in to every USB port I have on my computer.
