Ever since I upgraded to Mojave some time ago, I have a weird issue when downloading or uploading large files. 800mbps+ is normal for me, so speed isn't an issue when it's working, however regardless of browser or process, whether we're talking Safari, Chrome, or even Google Backup/Sync, the connection will drop. In normal day to day use I don't notice because it seems to be instantaneous. Things don't all of a sudden go out in a way I notice, but it means any downloads or uploads in progress reset and restart or fail completely.
I can't seem to find any consistent way to replicate this. It happens on my MacBook Pro as well over Wifi, and my iMac where I primarily work connected to ethernet.
One odd example that leads me to think it's software related, is today while uploading a huge 100GB file via MASV (done through Safari), I was synching a few things via Google Drive's app... the Google Drive app lost it's connection, yet the file upload kept going and completed properly. If the whole connection had dropped, that wouldn't have happened... correct? Safari isn't safe from this issue mind you, while downloading a large file earlier this morning I got the "Network Connection Lost" error on the individual download.
It's hard to diagnose these sort of things to know whether it's an issue with my router OR if it's Mojave/OSX related. Is there a program that is really good at network monitoring where I might be able to catch what's happening, or does anyone have any suggestions overall?
What's happening here seems really specific, and these sort of issues are almost impossible to Google since you just find an ocean of other issues unrelated...
