Folka,

Have been running the following successfully for a few months but recently ran into problems.

Have a desktop PC connected via a cable modem for internet/email access. Also have a Netgear router creating a network. Have run it all successfully with a PC Laptop and with my somewhat recent (6 months) Macbook connecting via network. Of course, I've come to love the Macbook.

Recent change when I turn on Macbook, it connects to network, but when I try to load Safari (or connect to my university based email), Safari loads but cannot connect to internet (or get mail). Further, that also stops the desktop from accessing the internet or get mail, even though it says it is connected. Laptop PC was able to do it's thing via network, but also stops when I load Safari. Turning Macbook off does not return access via desktop, but if I remove the power from cable modem and then router and return the power, i get access on PC desktop back. Thus, it seems to me that Macbook is crashing the whole system. Tried to repair IP address (or whatever the Mac term is) but it did not help. When I tried to repair PC's IP address while system is not connecting, it is unable to do so.

Thoughts please!! Where is the problem and suggested solutions?

Thanks in advance.
