Network discovery issue?

Hi,

I have a rMBP running 10.9.2. I've had a problem with it for a while now where it doesn't seem able to play nicely with other wifi devices. It's hard to explain but I think it must all be related. The issues I've had with it are
  • It won't find/sync my iPhone over wifi
  • I can't find/control my sonos devices
  • Can't find chromecast
  • Can't find my airport extreme

Is there something obvious which may be preventing me from connecting to these external devices? I've tried turning the firewall off but that didn't help so not sure what else to try.
