Hi,

I have a PowerBook and a PowerMac. Quite often I connect them, so that the PowerMac accesses the PowerBook via Network to transfer the data I need on the go.

However, quite often I just grab the book without unmounting the network drive and there the pain starts. When the system loses connection to a network drive the whole system is jamed up, sometimes it doesn't even come back so that I have to restart the machine.

Its even worse if I mount somebody's drive on the book and than leave the place, forgetting to unmount the drive. Quite regular I crash my system by doing that.

Is there ANY way to get rid of this timeout or whatever this is. This is a Mac, I would expect a better behavior than this ;)

By the way I'm using Tiger 10.4.11.
