I have a Macbook Pro running macOS Sierra 10.12.2 and I have two HDDs which are connected to TimeCapsule through USB. Both of these drives are on my network and mounted.
They hold a lot of my data. But since yesterday, whenever I double click any kind of file hosted on those drives, I get an error saying "The application "xxxx" can`t be opened. -36". By "xxx" I mean all applications including Adobe acrobat reader, preview, vlc etc.

If I click on a pdf to open, then it says "The application "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" can`t be opened. -36" if its a video file then it would say application "VLC" can`t be opened and same error -36.
Now peculiar thing is if I open the application by itself, all of them open, and then i can open file also navigating from application itself. If I move same file to my desktop or internal drive then issues goes away for that particular file.

What to do to fix this issue? I have rebooted the system, ejected and mounted drives again.
