Anyone else having issues with the latest itunes reading music from a network drive? It's painfully slow. Almost unusable. I'm getting a whole lot of the spinning pinwheel action. Activity monitor shows it's not maxing out cpu usage. It seems it tries to cache the entire song before it plays... Before the servers hdd led would blink every couple seconds while playing a song. Now it blinks like mad before the song starts to play and I don't see it again until the next pinwheel of it loading the next song.
Any ideas on how to remedy this? Should I just go back to the previous itunes version?

It actually seems faster with now than it was pre-8.1. I have no loading times what so ever. Thank you apple.
