Hi,
Fairly new with macs.
I have a macbook pro with os x 10.7.2 but tried in the past with 10.6.xx.
I have a wireless modem/router (its a bob which I think is a australian only model by the brand belkin.. unsure..)
I have an external hdd which I setup and formatted with this mac and it now holds movies and it is my time capsule.
I can only seem to back up to it if I plug the hdd directly to my computer. When it is connected to the wireless router, it doesn't show up. The wireless router has a usb port for storage. You are supposed to be able to access anything thats plugged into that USB port.
The only folder that shows up is a folder called anonymous which shows up only when the hdd is connected to the router. If I connect the hdd to the mac with usb, that folder doesnt exist.
Umm, not sure what other information I can give.
I just really want to beable to have the hdd available on the network at anytime. Specifically for time machine to back up without me having to plug the usb cable directly into the mac.
