Also, and more pressing: Mac OS X seems to hate networks. Girlfriend (Santa Rosa MBP) and I (Mac mini) both use iStat Menus 3. It shows that sometimes, Mac OS X simply refused to download data. Restarting my modem at home generally fixes the problem, but due to the time it takes to reboot, I think, than actually fixing anything. Did so, 20min ago, and network still refused to cooperate. Eventually, as always, it comes back.
We pay for a 10Mbps Cox connection, damnit, I shouldn't be limited in using it. This network thing is OS - Gf's had it as well, and she's on Embark, with a **** speed connection, through a WiFi. Turning Airport off, then on, doesn't fix the problem there. Affects all applications, web browsers (I have five, just for kicks) and IM clients. My dad noticed only noticed it once, thought i was the modem. Cable guy said it might be the router. When he gets back, I'm going to connect the Mini to the modem directly, bypassing the Vonage box. Doubt it'll work for the simple reason that my Gf has a completely different setup, but same problem. Problem manifests easiest when multiple tabs are opened concurrently.

Any thoughts, help?
Thanks in advance.
