I have both my new Mac Pro and my old G4 connected to a cable modem through a router. Can someone tell me (or direct me to a walkthrough) of how I can see my G4's drives on my Mac Pro to transfer files, rather than remove and install drives. Basically, I guess that would be setting up a LAN?

I've always used the "target" mode to transfer large amount of stuff from one computer to another (as mentioned above). Turn off one computer, connect the two firewire ports with a cable, and turn on the computer while holding the t key. The hard drive of the "target" computer will appear on your desktop.
