Network PC and Mac - wireless or not

Hey Guys

I know there is the networking thread, but can anyone tell me if I can network a pc and mac together simply through wireless? I can't get it working at all at present and wondered if you have to have a airport express or base station to get this working [I assumed it would hae worked the same as a cross over cable]. BTW I am running Tiger and XP pro.

I know the network is quicker through cables, and will want to share files etc so could you recomend a good router for doing this + connecting up to internet through broadband.

It would be great if you could help sort this as I also need to convince my bosses to go to Macs + PC's - networking is the issue.

I do it all the time. It's pretty much the same whether or not it is done wirelessly or wired so the aforementioned FAQ thread will come in handy. Then report back with specific problems as necessary.
