I have a 2011 MacBook Pro. I'm looking at Network Utility and it shows Link Speed as 1 Gbit/s for a second, then the link breaks and the IP address disappears. Then it comes back, then goes off. Every second.
I've tested the switch and cable in my old white MacBook and it gets a stable connection at 1 Gbit/s. Both computers are running Mountain Lion. I've also tried swapping cables and ports on the switch and the problem persists.
Does this sound like a hardware fault? The Ethernet adapter in the MBP is Broadcom 57765-B0
My Windows PC is also connected to the same switch and has a stable 1 Gbit/s connection
