Hello.
I have a Lexmark X83 hardwired to my PC. I installed the OSX driver for this printer on my Mac. If I connect my printer directly to the Mac, it prints fine. But I would like to use this printer over my home network, connected to the PC.

I have my network set up a-ok. When I try to add a printer I chose Windows Printing and it shows me the Lexmark option (the name I shared it under). It seems to install OK, but rather than say Lexmark X83 under 'kind' like the Lexmark does when connected directly to the Mac, it says Generic Postscript printer. Needless to say, it doesn't print.

The only thing I can think of is when I connect to the networked printer, it asks me for a username and password to connect to the PC. I don't ever recall setting up a user name or password on my PC so I just hit OK with fields blank. It still shows me the contents of the PC, so it is letting me in regardless I think.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
