Network problems after 10.5.5

Prior to 10.5.5 update: No matter what network I connected to, without configuring any workgroup settings, I could see windows shares and access any itunes libraries on the current network.

After 10.5.5: None of the above is possible, even after specifying workgroup in wins.

Any ideas, besides trying to revert to the previous version?

Install NetBeui (or NetBios) protocol on windows machines

I was having a similar problem and found an article somewhere on the net about installing the NetBeui (or NetBios) protocol on the windows machines. it really helped fix my problem.
