Hi all,

I just bought a new Macbook, and I am new to using macs myself. We have a PC and have a wireless router that we just installed today after many hours of stuffing around! Almost everything is good, I followed the instructions on this thread:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/54704/

now, my problem is that although I can connect to the shared files on the PC from the mac, I cannot connect to the mac from the PC. I've set everything up correctly and even under System preferences > Sharing > Windows Sharing is ticked, my accounts are ticked and it says just above the "enabled accounts:" button "Windows users can acess your computer at \\192.168.0.3\xxxx

so when I go to Start>Run and then enter that network path, it says
"network path cannot be found"
I followed all the instructions plus I can still connect from mac to PC.

Please help!!!!!!!!!

I just tried that path then, and the same message comes up.

I didnt install a firewall, does a new mac come with one?? I'm not sure how to check if it is turned on or not, or whether I have one. How do I do this?

Thanks =)

By the way, the address shouldn't have the question mark at the end. :eek:

As for the firewall, this setting is in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.
