Network settings says ethernet connected is connected but no internet

I have a macbook pro version 10.7.4

I'm trying to connect it per cable and it says ethernet connected but there's no internet... Other computers work well with this router. Mine works fine in other routers except this one. It's a 169 router (if that helps)

Any help would be great.

Do other computers work fine with the exact same cable?

If so, check with the network/router administrator if there for example is MAC filtering in place, or if there are any special settings like manual configuration instead of DHCP etc to consider.

Yes other computers do work with the same cable.

I'm sorry about my ignorance, I work a lot with mac but only as a user :S
I don't know hot to check with router administrator. The router is a bit old - smc 7004vbr
Do you know how can I get to the administrator?
