I have file sharing turned on for both of my Macs though they do not see each other on the network. I went into my network settings and I notice that under TCP/IP the IPv4 Address, Subnext Mask and Routers settings are not the same. Can this be the reason why the Macs do not see each other? Should all three of these settings be the same on both Macs? What do I do?

Thanks.

I am not an expert in networking, but I have 2 macs connected to the same router and;
1. they have the same Subnet Mask,
2. the IPv6: is set to Link-local only on both computers
3. the router setting is the same "192.168.3.1" in my case.
I can connect to either Mac :cool: using the Command-k keys (check the IP address of the target Mac beforehand and enter that once)
easy as pie :D
