I noticed (could be due to an update ?? ) that the "Format" Apple gives in "Get Info" is now SMB in this case "(OS X)", which is kinda confusing because that's kinda makes it an Apple standard, when its not.. SMB is universal Windows and Mac support. so i dunno why the change.. (EXT4)

Makes more sense to be SMB - how would Mac OS X know the format of the file share - that's the servers responsibility - could be EXT4,. NTFS, exFAT, ZFS etc... all it's purpose in life is to provide files over the network.
