Morning all - well it's morning here - I upgraded to Mavericks a couple of weeks ago and have noticed an issue I was hoping somebody may be able to help me with.

Since the upgrade I've notice that my torrent and NZB download speeds have started to fluctuate significantly, mostly down to ridiculously slow speeds. What I mean is that I'll fire up Transmission and a download will start at 800kb/s , then it will start dropping, all the way down to zero where it will sit for several minutes before jumping back up again. Invariably the speeds never hit the 800kb/s again, they seem to start between 2-35 kb/s.

I know that some may say this is the way torrents operate but one of the torrents has 60 peers and I have no throttling on my client while the speed should change I don't understand why it would get to zero.

Even more annoying / frustrating / unexplained is that my SAB NZB client performs similarly. Where's before I could get consistent speeds between 800kb/s - 1.3 Mb/s they fluctuate at speeds similar to my torrent speeds. Downloads of files that previously took hours are now taking upto a day.

And don't even talk to me about the nzb unpacking issues......

I found this post that suggested the issue might be SMB2 related but I'm using NFS for my NAS. http://www.zdnet.com/mavericks-smb2-problem-and-fixes-7000022519/

Likewise I have found a couple of other forums suggesting similar issues but no suggested remedies.

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance,

D
