Im curious in the maximum bandwidth a 10/100, 10/100/1000 and airport could produce. Is just 100mb/sec, 1000mb/s and 54mb/sec or is it different. What type would be recommended for a file sever.

If i made no sense sorry, basically i would like to know the transfer rate of files over the above types of networks.

One last quick question, im not good at the conversions how fast would it take to transfer a 1gb file over too?

Thanks. :)

Its megaBITS

So a 10/100 speed would be

10 X 128K

and

100 X 128K

As a Megabit is 128K

As for real life speed, a quick and easy way to gauge is to half the quoted speed.

So 10 becomes 5 and 100 becomes 50 and the 1000 on the PM's beomes 500.

A Gig transfer on a normal 100 Base T network wouldn't take long.
