Hi all,

I've been having weekly, sometimes daily, spontaneous interruptions in my internet service despite me being hardwired into the router. I've spoken several times over the years to my ISP, Charter, about creating a more stable environment for my network, but the outages are too random and often too short to catch and diagnose. Suddenly, I find myself in a position to use a DirectTV service for free soon.

Before I (make the decision to) switch over, I'd like to know if there is a way to monitor and log my internet connection's instability issues. I might use the data as a comparison to the new service. Obviously, if I'll know if the instability issue has gotten unbearably worse, but even being able to cite that data to either ISP in my reasons for disconnecting the service would be helpful.

Additionally, if anyone could let me know what to expect from DirectTV's service is welcome to comment. What was your experience with the service? The customer support? Would you turn it down even if it was free?

Thanks,
Bugg
