hi

sorry it this sounds stupidly basic but here goes...

if i have some files on an extreme'd airdisk, and i want to copy them to an external hard drive, does mac os copy/delete them to my internal mac HD as part of the whole copying process or does it run them all through the logic board?

reason for the question is i need to copy 2TB and i have an SSD that i would rather not work due to cycles & stuff.

any answers, gratefully received!

JT

don't worry. it goes all directly through the mainboard and RAM not touching your SSD.

you shouldnt worry too much about cycles and stuff. measuring the lifetime of SSDs in cycles is more a theoretical approach
