Networking a mac with W7!

I am trying to network my macbook and W7 computer. The macbook is seeing the W7 files, but the W7 computer does not see the macbook shared files. I am pretty sure that I am following the right steps to make this happen. Is this a common problem for W7 not to see the mac shared files. Can anyone give me some additional info or a link to follow. Thanks
