We are experiencing a random lag/timeout with our internet connection using the following setup.
1. Cable Modem hooked to
2. RT31P2 Vonage Router
3. Airport Extreme (New One with Gigabit - printer/hard drive sharing) - Bridge mode with Vonage Router
4. Airport Express units extending the Airport
The Cable Modem is hooked up to the RT31P2 and that router, and the Airport extreme is in Bridge mode with the Router.
Randomly in a browser or other application every 3-5 minutes the connection will hang on a request - most of the time in under 20-30 seconds it will then load in. then after that it's fast with no hiccups. Then happens again in 5-10 minutes or even 3-5 minutes.
When this happens the lights on the Cable Modem are all green and also the Airport extreme lights are all green.
I had Comcast come out - they say everything looks good. I then called Vonage and they had the RT31P2 set to normal mode from high.
Still - we are having the same issues. One thing I did notice - when the outage happens - over the Airport network I can't hit the 192.168.15.1 RT31P2 router - so it's like the bridge mode is being lost.
I thought also we were getting knocked off by other nearby wireless also on channel 11 - so I moved to channel 8 which is not in use by other wireless nearby.
Any ideas or thoughts would be great. One thing I would want to try is put the extreme first and put the vonage back just for voice hooked to it. Maybe the bridge mode is just not working. But up until 3-4 weeks ago this setup worked for over a year or more with no hiccups.
