Hello!

I just got an iMac - it has connected to the web via my existing DSL (via the Westll 327w, wireless) without problems. My old PC (win XP) still connects as well. Now I wonder if I'm able to transfer files from the PC to the Mac? I've read this -

doesn't work. Moreover, I cannot connect to the modem from the Mac - neither http://dslrouter nor http://192.168.1.1 work (tried both Safari and Firefox, and pinging from the prompt: '10.9.97.1: Communication prohibited by filter'). Both URLs work from the PC. The PC doesn't recognize the Mac's IP either - ping fails.

Any ideas? Do I need a router? (The Westell is described as one but I have only a vague idea about all this)

Alternatively, if I buy a Bluetooth-USB adapter and plug it to my PC (it doesn't have Bluetooth built in) will my two computers be able to link up?

Thanks a lot!
