I have an new iMac in my office and is it possible to have a wireless network and a wired LAN ethernetconnection simultaneously, each being on a different network?

I would like my iMac to connect wirelessly to a Linksys wireless router (that connects me to a shared printer, and a server and also have a wired ethernet connection to ADSL modem, so that I can access the internet.

This may seem a simple issue, but I happen to work overseas where the internet is extremely expensive if is use a cable connected directly into our network. I want to reduce my internet costs by using a wireless usb modem where I take the chip out of the usb modem and put it into the ADSL modem.

The question is what brand of ADSL modem should I order as there are no such types where I live and I will need to order one from something like Amazon. For example the folks here suggest a Linksys ADSL Gateway Router which is older than the newer ones I see such as a
D-Link DSL-2540B ADSL2/2+ Modem with 4-Port Ethernet Router TR067/069

I just don't want to buy something that takes three weeks to get here and find out it does not work.

Any sound advice is highly welcome
