Running two imacs on System 10.5.6, connected by ethernet.
Networking OK on one but not on the other (on one machine we have access to the hard disc of the other, but not vice versa). All settings appear to be identical.
Also, a USB printer attached to one machine cannot be used by the other, even though printer sharing is switched on (on both macs).
Can someone help, please?:confused:
 
So both computers have file sharing enabled? On the Mac that can't see the other, in Finder, go to Go -> Connect to Server. Enter afp://[other computer's name].local. Does it work then?

Thank you. I have tried that. Is it only able to work one way?
 
No, it should be bidirectional. Are the firewalls turned off? What IP scheme are you using (IP addresses for each, subnet mask for each, and gateway for each)?
