Okay, so this is not exactly Mac-specific, but I wanted to avoid having to sign up for another different forum just to ask this question. I'm thinking the community here might be smarter than me for this one. Here's what I am trying to do....

I have a DSL modem that doubles as a wireless router. This is my source of Internet in my house. I have a separate Netgear router that I wanted to set up as a secondary router on my network. What I want to achieve, however, might not be possible but I wanted to try. I want the main router to exist for internet activity and the second router to handle all computer-to-computer traffic (ie. when I am transferring a 4 gig file to a NAS on my network, I don't want it to effect the internet connection of other computers on the network).

I was thinking of just creating a second network altogether and just connecting the NAS to that and switching my computer over to that network when I am needing to transfer files, but I also need that NAS to have internet access, and switching cables every time I need to transfer would be a PITA.

Anyone have any ideas?
