Hi. Let me start by saying I know NOTHING about networking at all. But here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a Dual G5 with all the latest updates, etc. I also have a DSL internet connection with 2 static IP addresses. I would like to be able to remotely access the files on my G5 desktop machine...and not let every idiot in the world get to my machine...security, you know. I also have VoIP running in the same office as my G5. Since I have the VoIP, they gave my a Linksys router with two phone jacks on the back.

It seems I can have the static IP run right to my G5 from my DSL modem, thus giving me NO phone service. But I can see the G5 remotely. OR....I can run the internet connection from the modem to the router. I get an internal IP address for the G5. I can get on the internet from the G5 and I have phone service, but I can't see the G5 remotely.

SO....how can I securely see my G5 remotely AND have my phone service?

Thanks for any and all help!

Whew.
