Hey Guys,

Thanx for Mac Rumors! I have found the website very helpful. :apple:

Anyways, I talked so highly of my Mac that a buddy of mine finally
bought a used dual G4 desktop just to check them out. :D

We plugged it into his Linksys router and I was able to network
it to his PC hard drive in about 5 minutes. I know I did it through
menus and System Preferences windows. I remember a drop
down menu on a system window, I pulled it down, chose a name
(which I think corresponded to the name of his computer), it
prompted me for a uname/pass, and then we could see his whole
hard drive (which is shared).

A couple weeks later he had a bad Windows crash. I helped him
recover but I can't figure out or find out how I originally made his
HD viewable to the Mac. I know I did not use Go->Connect to
Server. Windows Sharing is turned on. The HD on the PC is
shared.

I don't get it! It was so easy the first time! Please help!

Try this:

1. Double click on Macintosh HD
2. Click once on Network
3. Double click on Mshome
4. Double click on the icon for the PC
5. Choose the desired share from the drop down listbox
6. Click on OK
7. Double click on the icon that was added to your desktop

Sounds exactly like what I remember doing...I can't wait 'til I get to
try it later :D

THANKS!!! :)
