is it possible to network 2x virtual machines (on the same box; a Mac Pro) using any of the available VM suites out there (vmware or parallels, etc)?

I'm developing/QAing client/server apps, and it would suck if i have to purchase more machines when I have 8x cores and 16GB of RAM available at my disposal on my MP.

thanks in advance

Yes it is possible, and should "just work". Of course this means that you would be working within Windows (or Linux, BSD, etc) inside the VMs, and not MacOS.

Yeah, I'm a dunce. I simply switched the vmware network adapter settings from NAT to bridged in all VMs, after reading this document. My XP/Solaris10/SUSE9 Professional/SUSE9 Server VMs see each other now. For some reason, all but XP have name resolution. I had to create a "host" file for it.

Thanks
