I'm trying to network my desktop pc running XP home and my macbook with OS X 10.4.7. I can access the pc's c:\ directory fine, and several of the folders, but I can't seem to get access to the "program files", "windows", or "documents and settings" folders. Anyone know how to get into these? On the macbook, it says that there are "0 files" within the directories (including windows), and obviously this can't be.

That's because Windows is blocking you. It 'protects' those folders. I had to fiddle around for ages to get it working.

Try sharing the 'blocked' folders individually...

Well, it is sort of uncommon to share such files/folders.

If you just need to read them, put a copy under an already shared folder.

Are you trying to remotely fix/mess your PC ? ;)
