Never realized how much I would miss the gestures

Like many others I was very disappointed in finding iPad 1 users lost gestures with IOS5. As time goes by, I am finding I miss them more and more - especially the four finger home gesture. I am still finding myself doing that by reflex . I guess Apple wins - I will definitely be buying an iPad 3 when released just to get the gestures back.

Same here. Not happy with apple on this score, especially as it said iPad, rather than iPad2 only on the webpage. Hate having to use the home button. It is so crappy compared to even the 5 finger pinch, and the 4 finger dock thing.

Were these advertised gestures or the developer ones they never officially advertised?

These are the same gestures that are allowed on the iPad 2 but not the 1. They worked absolutely fine on the 1. No reason at all not to allow them except to make you have to upgrade to the 2.
