people waiting go in

take all day long ,,,,

I camped overnight for the iPhone 4. I got to my store at midnight and didn't leave until 3pm the next afternoon. Like you said, it took forever to process people. I had a good time and I'm glad I did it, but I would never do it again.

I thought you were going to bribe a guy at Best Buy to set one aside for you? That was your big plan!

My transaction from beginning to end took 20 minutes. Just bought 6+ and leather case. They are definitely taking their time. I was really surprised how long it took. But it was filled with over the top customer service. Everyone was so happy and excited. Congratulating me like I just had a new kid born. Haha.

50 or 100 register to a table ,

The employees are walking registers at the Apple Store.

Not to be a jerk but no one forced you to wait in line. Everyone knows these events are long, long lines, long wait times. It's just how it goes. If it bothers you so, then just get out of line. Or, next time just wait an couple weeks and get it at your own leisure and deal with not having a phone that will be exactly the same when you get it later on.

6:30 pm at the Menlo Park Apple Store in NJ, and the line is still outrageous. The line is being snaked back and forth multiple times.

There's another line about half as large at the AT&T store right across.

I was hoping things had died down so I could look at the display models, and see what I was in for when my 6 Plus arrives on Monday via UPS. No chance of that happening! I sure hope I don't need a Genius Bar appointment for the next two months, because getting into an Apple Store for anything is impossible right now.

I preorded last Friday at 5pm. My line only had like 15 people in it.

But OH MY GOODNESS, there was a HUGE line of "walk-ins"! I mean, I only have a small local store in a mall so I really didn't expect a huge crowed, but they were lined up over 200 feet almost outside of the mall doors!

NEVER, would I do that. One lady said she had been there since yesterday evening. NOPE!

Heh, they were giving out water bottles at mine and people were so appreciative and thought it was so nice. I thought the same thing. $8 for a pack of water bottles and your going to take in $50,000+ revenue.

----------

Did any stores in the USA actually pass out cards this time around?

Mine just lined people up and escorted them one at a time in.

Why the hell would anyone throw away 10+ hours of their life just to be the first one to get an iPhone? For the love of all that's good on this planet, do you folks have nothing better to do with your time? Why not get out there and use those hours to do something that actually makes a positive contribution to the human race? I mean seriously.

1 a year ,,, i think it fun like that once a year,
just like festival , it more fun than christmas or new year
