Hey all,
I just picked up my new 12" 1.5Ghz Super Drive yesterday morning and I was super excited. Until i tested out my Super Drive. So far its been 3 different brands of 8x DVD-Rs and it wont burn any higher than 2x! its so frustrating that I paid for an 8x DVD Burner and get this skimpy performance I got from a 3 year old PowerBook.
- I quit all other apps.
- Tried Toast 6 and Disk Util and Burnalbe Folders
- Maxxed out Ram
- Created a fresh user account and tried all of the above
- Called apple 3 times and the campus computer store once and they keep sending me to this link ( http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n302191 ) which i think its partially crap... because I have never had such a picky DVD Burner. I have has 16x that burn at 12x or 8x on a PC, but never this slow...
Has anyone had this issue? Anyone know a fix? Is it the media, if so, could anyone recommend good blank DVDs that arent over-priced apple branded ones?
