Booming first-day sales of MacBook Pro laptops continued Apple's hot streak Wednesday, as the cheapest model, with a 13-inch screen, reportedly sold out at some locations. The new laptops are the first new MacBooks since October and were introduced on Tuesday.

The high-end MacBook Pro with an Intel processor first arrived in January 2006 to replace the PowerBook G4. The aluminum-encased Pro comes in 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch screen versions. Depending on processor speed and other options, prices range from $1,199 to $2,299, the same range as previous MacBooks.

Looks like people are happy with C2D processor on the 13 inch models.

:apple: Sells!

I picked mine up at the apple store yesterday the guy did not say anything about them being low in stock. They did not have them on the shelf yet however maybe when they got everything setup they started selling faster.

I bought mine (13", 2.4GHz) on launch day. Left work and went to the Apple store closest to my house and ... they were sold out of them (at 4pm, EDT!). Luckily, I was headed to another area that evening and the Apple store up there had some in stock, so I was able to pick it up.

Runs awesome, BTW!
