New 13" MBA user

Hi everyone,

Just got my first Apple laptop and upgraded from a 2006 Vaio to a 2011 13" MBA 128Gb. It feels really faaaaast!

I only have a little question, I checked the activity monitor and was surprised to see that at idle there is around 2Gb of Ram used, is this normal? It seems to be a lot...

It is both; quite a lot, and right. Seems to be the reason apple bumped the ram on the new models, well, every one except the for the base 11".

The operating system uses the RAM it has to make applications open fast etc. I'm sure that isn't 2GB active RAM.
