New 13 mbp. No Mojave at Apple Store?

bought $1799 model at Apple store and Mojave not installed.

It was manufactured a few months ago. Once it's made and packaged, that's it. They don't open up everything they've made to update it to the latest software. That would be ridiculous. Update it yourself and move on.

A single SKU doesn't really tell you any useful details about their sales or lack thereof.

Mine came with high sierra out of the box as well. 2018 13" 8Gb i5 512SSD. I was caught out by this when looking for dark mode and went WTF this is a new machine... oh its high sierra. Dead obvious by the desktop background Out came the Mojave usb stick and quickly reinstalled to the latest. Most annoying bit of setting up the machine was waiting for migration assistant to finish, not having to upgrade the OS
