If I were to purchase a new MBP right now, do you think it would retain most of its retail value in the next couple of years? It seems that the 13" MBP was a slap in the face to most people.

Either way, I still need a new laptop. I'm new to macs and my PC is giving out on me.

I was thinking about buying one now, and just sell it in a couple of years when a much better 13" mbp comes out.

I will use the mbp for browsing, microsoft office, streaming movies and videos, emails, music, and maybe starcraft 2 once in a while (starcraft 2 not a big deal because I will build a gaming PC when I have the resources)

Is it worth it to hop on the new 13" mbp, and resell it later? Or would the 2010 refurbed c2d mbp retain better resell value in a couple years?

Oh okay, Thanks! How much do you think the value drops on it after say...2-3 years?

1100 MBP after three years probably worth 500-600 depending on condition.

Higher end models worth 700-800 up to 1000, depending on specs. That seems to be the trend around here.

50$ are 2€ in 2-3 years! :( Or the way around, if the greeks can manage it :)

I would be also interested in possible resell prices, cause I'm planning to sell my new 2011 MBP with the new refresh. So in about 1 year. Planning to buy the 1149€ (1200$) option.
